Why is the baby named by nakshatra?

In Vedic tradition, the syllable of the birth nakshatra's pada is considered auspicious for the child. The Namkaran ceremony names the baby with this starting letter. This tradition is rooted in astrological calculation and is a matter of personal belief.

Can twins have different nakshatras?
