What is Bhadra?
Bhadra is the seventh of the movable karanas ("Vishti") in panchang. It is one of the eleven karanas, half-tithi units, and recurs roughly every 3.5 days for about 10 to 16 hours each time.
Classical tradition avoids starting certain new work during Bhadra: beginning travel, a wedding muhurat, a griha-pravesh. Everyday work is not treated as restricted.
