Missing a vrat happens. Ekadashi comes twice a month, Pradosh every two weeks, and marquee festivals like Karva Chauth or Teej only once a year on a Gregorian date that moves every time, because the tithi calendar is lunar, not solar.

We built Upvas & Vrat Email Reminder exactly for this. Fully free. No birth chart. Just your email, and two nudges land in your inbox before every vrat.

How it works

  1. Go to /en/upvas-reminder and enter your email.
  2. A confirmation link arrives in your inbox. One click activates the subscription (double opt-in, so no accidental subscriptions).
  3. Then for every Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya, Pradosh, Chaturthi and major festival:
    • 6pm the day before: enough time to buy samagri, plan the sankalp, and prep the meal.
    • 6am on the day: the vrat is now on.
  4. Times are in your local timezone, whether you’re in India, the US, Europe, Canada or elsewhere.

What’s covered

The full tithi-based annual cycle:

  • Ekadashi: both Shukla and Krishna paksha, twice a month.
  • Purnima and Amavasya: every lunar month.
  • Pradosh Vrat: every paksha’s Trayodashi.
  • Sankashti and Vinayaka Chaturthi: for Ganesh devotees, twice a month.

The named festivals (masa-specific tithis):

  • Karva Chauth, Hariyali Teej, Hartalika Teej, Nag Panchami, Raksha Bandhan.
  • Navratri (Chaitra and Shardiya), Diwali, Dhanteras, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj.
  • Chhath Puja, Holi.

Regional solar-calendar festivals (Onam, Pongal) aren’t in yet, they follow a different calendrical system. Planned for a future update.

Living outside India?

The reminder respects your local time. If you’re in Berlin you get it at 6am CET; New York, 6am EST; Toronto, 6am EDT. 6am India time is not 6am for you, and this reminder knows that.

The tithi itself is computed at a fixed Indian reference instant (the standard convention every panchang uses), so the date the vrat falls on is consistent worldwide. The clock time you’re reminded at is the local one.

Privacy

  • The email is used for this reminder only.
  • No ads, nothing shared with third parties.
