Getting the puja timing right

The Lakshmi Puja muhurat is observed during Pradosh Kaal, the period that starts at sunset, inside the Vrishabha (fixed ascendant) window. UK sunset falls at a different clock hour than India’s, so an India-published time does not carry over.

The BST to GMT switch

Late October is when UK clocks go back from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time. In 2027 that happens on Sunday, October 31, three days after Diwali. So on Diwali you are still on BST, and every time above is BST. If you look up sunset after October 31 you will see times an hour earlier on the clock, which is the clock change, not the sky.

Lakshmi Puja essentials
