Data Deletion

Last updated: 23 August 2026

The Nakshara website has no sign-up: deletion is requested directly by email. The Nakshara Android app does have an account (email one-time-link sign-in); deleting the account is also done by email, until an in-app button ships.

What we hold about you

  • Website: birth details, WhatsApp number and email, your consent record, your order and payment record, and technical request data (IP address, path, referrer, user-agent) captured by our page-view logging.
  • Android app: your email address and the date the account was created, plus any signed-in session tokens on your device. Once push notifications ship, this will also include a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token; the Privacy Policy will be updated when that lands.

How to request deletion

  • Email [email protected] from the email address or WhatsApp number you used, saying "delete my data" (for the website) or "delete my account" (for the Android app). It is fine to say both.
  • We verify your identity via that same contact channel.

What gets deleted

  • Website: your birth details, contact information, consent record, the generated report, and the pending page-view records tied to your session.
  • Android app: your email address and account record. Deleting the account ends any signed-in session immediately, because a session is only valid for an account that still exists.

What we retain

  • Payment and invoice records: for 6 years after the end of the financial year, as required of a England & Wales company under HMRC rules and the Companies Act 2006, kept separately from your birth-chart data.
  • Records reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, to enforce our Terms, or to prevent fraud, for as long as those purposes require.
  • Aggregated and anonymised data derived from your use of the service (for example, "N page views on /kundli/ on 12 August 2026", or model-training features that no longer identify you). Once individual records are aggregated or anonymised they can no longer be tied back to you and are outside the scope of a deletion request.

Timeline

  • We acknowledge every request within 48 hours and act on it within 30 days, in line with India’s DPDP Act 2023 §11 and GDPR Article 12(3).

Right to nominate

  • Under India’s DPDP Act 2023 §14, you can nominate another individual to exercise your rights (including deletion) if you die or become incapacitated. Email us with the nominee’s name and contact details and we will record the nomination.

If you are not satisfied

  • You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), your local EU supervisory authority (edpb.europa.eu), or India's Data Protection Board.
